Would there possibly be any long term damage to a plasma television set placed with its back to the window?
I am worried about any sun damage or overheating and was wondering if anyone has seen it happen.
Small apartment with limited space.
The back of the television is facing south.
Venetian blinds on the window shut pretty much all day. A few are broken.
Where I live it gets into the 90's in the summer on average.

If that particular window gets a lot of sunlight, then you are in fact running the risk of damaging your TV. Electronics, including and especially plasma TVs are highly susceptible to damage cause by heat.
You may want to use to heavier drapes to block this sun during the hottest period of the day.
