Will a plasma television last longer in a cooler environment?
I recently boughta plasma TV. I live at a fairly high elevation (8500ft) and I'm told that plasmas hum, and dont last very long at this hieght. This is becuase the decrese in air pressure makes the gas in the television more pressurized, which makes it hotter. his means that the cooling system has to work much harder (thus the hum) and therefore it wont last nearly as long. However, I keep my house pretty cold, around 56F. The the cooler environment help to compensate for the decrease in air pressure?

the plasma is in a seled environment, and will run at that temperature regardless of the ambient, unless it is really cold, too cold for you to sit and watch the tube
