how easy/ difficult is it to replace a broken plasma screen? is it similar to replacing a lcd screen ie just remove inverters and ribbon cable and change, or is it more complex?

i would take it apart, and not trash it, unsolder all the useful components (speakers, transformers, capacitors, resistors, inductors, relays, diodes, etc) for future use
all a tv actually does is shows 3 different colors like your computer red green and blue and your eyes can make that into a picture so thats what a tv does.

@battlecitys It’s called a plasma tv cause it works in the electrical plasma effect. Its just a pair of glass substraights with a phosphore coating filled with a rare noble gas.
@srkh28 I have a TV whos power supply was dead but it was an external supply (power Brick) and the TV itself was perfectly good it just wanted power so I took this XBOX 360 power brick I had lying around (I dont own an xbox 360 BTW) and I wired it to the original cord that was on the original brick that was bad and Plugged everything in and she fired right up. I plan to use this TV for gaming.
They have this new invention call a remote control. You don’t even have to use the buttons on the tv. How cool is that.

i like plasma more because you get true black, lcds do not, but plasma dont last long

you have to somehow remove the front plastic cover and reposition the buttons.
Just be careful with any metal parts or wires, and don’t remove the back as the components can hold a significant charge and you can get electrocuted.
i got a tv (not plasma but the old kinds)
and the buttons have been pushed inside of the TV…how can i fix this???
