Go with plasma! you get about 1.8 milliion color variations if not more…Also plasma can be seen from in any angle in the room! Lcd/projections cannot. They are used for darker rooms. Also, plasma handles glare pretty well better than a big screen or lcd…visit bby, circut city…Look at the plasma from 180 degree angle…then look at the rest lcd, projections…You will choose plasma I did!
Read this information to get an informed comparison. Visually, the plasma in general will give you the slightly better picture, but the glass screen gives off too much background glare for my taste. Plus the LCD has lately been narrowing the gap in picture quality. You also have to watch your plasma screen for burn-in from still pictures (i.e. like the stagnant station ID logos in the bottom right of the screen). My favorite choice for LCD is Sony.

They are both about the same.
Plasma picture wears down over time.
If you watch a plasma 8 hours a day, it will last 20 years.
If you get a brand like samsung, or other low end cheap lines they are not built to last. Samsungs are actually built to blow up.
They have no protection circuits, as Sony has alot, so if something goes out it wont be a catastrophic failure.
As LCD does not.
But Plasma does normally bring a better picture and more vibrant color.
Both are great technologies.
But what it really boils down to is brand. What brand is a good, quality, good support etc.
Those are Sony,Toshiba,Mitsubishi,Pioneer.
