Should you play video games on Plasma TVs?
Are video games fine for Plasma TVs or is there risks in burning out the TV playing xbox360 or ps3s on them?

you have to turn the brightness down at first so as not to creat burn marks in the plasma, but, if the tv is already broken in, then its not a big issue. just dont let images get burned in.

I think they have a “bulb life” of or around 72000 hours, (don’t hate me if I am wrong), and obviously playing games is time consuming, which means the bulb needs to be on.
There is no problem with a modern video game as long as the TV is not turned up to 100% brigtness and contrast.
The old 2 and 16 color video games could burn in, and a plasma TV in a bar turned to the same station 18 hours per day would burn in the station logo.
But modern games have thousands of colors so even fixed spots on the screen are not burned-in like the old ‘pong’ games would do.
Just turn down the brightness & contrast, play less than 3-4 hours a day and make sure to mix up the games or watch TV a few hours between marathon sessions and you should be fine.
Better – Use Netfix to rent or buy a copy of either “Avia” or “Digital Video Essentials”. These DVD’s have test patterns and tutorials that help you set the major Brightness, contrast, color balance, settings to give you the best (and safest) picture possible.
