Is it bad to play video games on a Plasma TV?
I plan on getting a brand new Plasma TV 50" 1080p, but I am worried about image retention and burn-ins. Are the new Plasma's advanced enough to prevent this? I keep hearing people not having a problem, but I still keep hearing stories of people having to return their TVs because of the frequent burn-ins.

Get a good name brand plasma because they invest more in anti image retention and if you can I highly recommend getting a Panasonic they are almost exclusively into the Plasma business and invest greatly into making their Plasmas number 1 in their technology. Cnet reviewed the top 5 HDTV three of which were Plasmas and of those Plasmas Panasonic had 2 and Samsung had 1.

Anyways there is a break-in period for Plasmas when you get a brand new Plasma void turning the brightness way up, watching widescreen movies, playing games, or having any static images on the screen for approximately the first 100hours. This first 100hours is the time the tv is more likely to get burn in images(but still not too likely nowadays).
After that the anti burn in image technology will really prevent this even while playing video games.
