How long does it take until my plasma tv has burn in?
I bought a plasma tv and, was wondering how long on a pause screen will a panasonic 42inch HD viera plasma TH42PX80A get burn in.
Does it have anti burn in features, if so tell me, and also I,am going to be using it to play games on the ps3.(it also double as a Blu-ray player:)
And does it have component ports for the ps3 component cables.

Hi, yes it does have component but you would use HDMI to connect your PS3. As with all plasma's do not abuse them when playing games, i.e. use them in the knowledge that several hours displaying a static image can leave your pixels charged (image retention). The Panasonic's are very good these days and do not burn after 3 or 4 hours use with graphics. You just need to be mindful of what you are using, as driving a car at 9000rpm everywhere will damage that too!

I also have that TV and yes, they do have anti burn-in technologies! First, there is the pixel orbiter that shifts pixels on and off to help PREVENT burn-in. Second, if an image is burned in, it has a feature that has a white bar slowly move from one side to the other and “washes” the screen until the image is removed! This option is located under the anti image retention menu. Just be careful on how much you use it because it prematurely degrades the contrast of the TV if used a lot!!!
As for the Component ports…yes, it has two! Don’t worry about people telling you to get a HDMI cable for the PS3, you won’t need it! The TV is only 720p so you won’t see a difference in pic quality between a HDMI & Component cable. Component cable carries a max of 1080i/720p signal while HDMI carries up to 1080p but since the TV is only 720p, the HDMI won’t make a noticeable difference!
