It has become coustomery to age the phosphors of new plasma tv by using the break-in slides available freely in most of the Audio-Video forums in the net.It is believed that by running the colour slides 24x7 or for the first 100hrs ages the plasma panel gradually and completely. So i have demonstrated here how one could accomplish this,through a video...But in my experience with this colour slide show has made me to request all new plasma tv buyers or owners to refrain from doing so,Since most of the new plasma Tv's have NEO-PDP(Panel) Which has very sensitive and very fast responding phosphors.Those Plasmas manufactured from the year 2010 onwards are pretty much ready to use type.And after a week or a month of normal usage you could get your panel ready to be professionally calibrated. So what you must take care for the first 100 or 200hrs,is to avoid watching videos with letterbox or pillerbox content.ie videos having black bars on top & bottom or black bars at the sides.And also viewing static images like photos,wallpapers & icons or channel logos...Since the plasma tv's have the ability to get screen burns or IR(image retention) easily. Now let me quote my experience with the break-in slides,On the day one of the slide show,i ran these slides from morning to evening continuously and while switching my tv off i noticed that there were mild pink,yellowish green stains visible in the grey areas of my panel.So i stopped this break-in slides from the following day.And ...

I bought a Panasonic Viera GT 30 , I have been viewing only widescreen movies,ones that occupy the entire? screen.I think this is the way to go. I have the THX mode activated, the picture is AMAZING.
@krisachar? cool thanks
@SpiralTrance,Hi you can use PS3 or Xbox rightaway.But if it has dark logos & static colourful score board…you will get mild IR for? the first 200hrs or so.
Its wise to feed your Hi end VT30 with regular BD movie content or with DTH HD,which does not have permanent logos or scrolling news stickers in it.
And last but least watch content without black bars in the top & bottom_16:9 or at the sides_4:3 content.Try to feed the tv with full video content.And don’t use dynamic mode.
Great video thanks. I’m buying a Panasonic TX-P50VT30 to use for console gaming and I want to start gaming straight away. Should I? just plug my console in and go?
Thanks for the vid? and info. I still cannot decide if I would run such pattern on my soon to be cheap Plasma from LG (42PW350 3D HDTV 720p 399.0 USD).
Maybe it’s not a new PDP like you mentioned?
You forgot 1 thing…. turn the contrast to 50 =? 0
