In live fire police training why don't they use plasma TVs instead of posters?
When police and military do urban/hostage training they use posters to shoot at. It would offer more flexibility and they could change the situation pretty fast and provide better training if they swapped the posters for plasma TVs, and with HD, they could get more realistic.

I don't think they could afford to shoot through $ 1000 plasma TV's like that.

Because one live round would destroy a plasma T.V. a poster will take many live rounds throught it…
I think I know what you are getting at. They have machines similar to what you are talking about. They are called FATS machines. That stands for FireArms Training Simulator. They use modified weapons that do not shoot live ammo but do simulate recoil. They work in comjunction with computers that register a hit or a miss. The scenerio changes each time. They are relatively expensive and not always available. There is only one in southeast Missouri that I know of.
