DON'T THROW IT OUT!!! Another youtube repair video that applies to many popular brands of 32"- 52+" Plasma TVs. Samsung makes most Plasma screens on earth, hence your *whatever brand name* Plasma TV has both the Samsung screen AND the matching Samsung power supply board. So this video most likely applies to you. :) If your TV is different inside or is LCD, then simply look for blown capacitors in other locations. Youtube "Pictures of bad capacitors" for a quick tutorial. The parts listed in this video are for the two 3300uF capacitors identified in this video only. If replacing a capacitor in a different location, be sure your replacement capacitor has the same voltage and capacitance rating. I recommend only Panasonic EB series electrolytic capacitors as they are extremely well made. Capable of surviving the high temperature/stress application in the power supply. Finally, If the entire family waited in anxious glory as you unboxed that new TV.... get a UPS for it. The UPS unit will save you from many capacitor related problems. Has to be a UPS, not a simple surge or spike protector..... UPS has a small internal computer and a battery source that monitors your AC socket for surges (from vacuum cleaners or microwave ovens). If there is a quick spike, it kills it and switches over to another source of power. It is almost a requirement for any new high dollar appliance!!! UPS = uninterruptible power supply = -0 from the local office supply superstore.

@jlfrome you have a bad ysus or a zsus board. Read my tip above on how to check the bad one. If they check out fine and get hot like I suggest while running, then your buffer boards are bad.
@SzymonVonBatman Usually the IC under the sink shorts out, blows a fuse, and protects the tv by not turning on.
@SzymonVonBatman You can do a simple test to check the Ysus and the Zsus boards. Leave the tv on for 10 minutes with the back off and very carefully feel for heat on the heat sinks of each sus board. The heat sinks are easy to find because they are the largest cooling metal fins on the right and the left side of the tv on the boards. Each one should be hot and around 140 degrees f. If one is cool, then there lies your problem.
@SzymonVonBatman make sure you hooked up all your cable connections and ribbon cables securely outside and inside your tv. A screen with dark raster but no video could be one of many issues.
Caps are not always to blame. It could also be a rectifier, resistor, ic, sd boards, buffers, ysus, zsus, etc. Check all fuses on the boards too. If one is open, then replacing it will only cause other issues or blow it again. You will have to find the root of the problem to blown fuses.
i change the cpacitors..and still the same…any way a can they may be another capacitor…the it may look good but isnt… is a 50 inch plasma and is in good condition i realy dont want to throw it out…any help will be nice….thankyou
I have a plasma TV 42 inch by Daewoo it made a crackling noise then the picture went off and a red light went on. Similar looking capacitors in your video appear to be fine, but there are smaller capacitors, I think they are capacitors, that appear to be bulged on the top. On the top of them it says 470 25 g 212 Are these capacitors and can they be replaced? What should I replace tem with? I couldn’t find them the digi key site and I am ignorant as to what to replace them with. Thanks.
I have a samsung plasma, my tv red light blinks and also clicks. It will turn on but sometimes it will take a while. Will this procedure help this issue?
Thank you
Ok as a professional in some cases this will work but you should have a professional tv tech do the repairs because you could damage components if you don’t know what your doing, as for the capacitor problem, as per an inside source they use capacitors that break down easy for environmental purposes you can thank the EPA for that one
I have a Sabre plasma TV, the screen would have a pink hue to it with a tone, you could still see the picture though. I would fix it by turning it off and pack on then the picture would be fine and no tone.
Then one day the picture just went black but you still hear the sound just fine.
I looked at all the capacitors and they look just fine, I have no clue as to what it could be. any ideas?
Thanks
Unfortunately, if you use the part he shows in the picture – you will be doing this again in the future. The voltage is too low and the capacitor is the wrong type.
1 — increase the voltage to about a 16 or 25V cap.
2 — Go with Panasonic FC series and -NOT- EB series.
Use part number EEU-FC1C332.
Dont know if you can help at all i have a Sagem HD-D45F rear projection TV that was working perfectly until a week ago. When you turn on it has to boot up first which it does flashing amber light then solid green. Then it stays on for a about 2 minutes and then switches itself off. Above the regular stand by light is another red light which is next to a symbol that looks like a thermometer. I’ve got no manual so i don’t know what to do next. Any help greatly appreciated.
Does anyone know – When you say all the capacitors on the board, exactly which ones do you mean. just the ones near the original two blown ones 3300uF on the power section of the board – or? what other capacitors (all on the entire board)? Also, do you have to use non lead solder? How critical is the soldering job?
I suggest that everyone who has a broken Samsung tv, return it to the U.S. headquarters in Ridgefield, NJ. I think they might get the idea that they have a faulty product if they are inundated with the actual faulty product.

Does anybody have other YouTube links for Philips plasma problems other than the 7-blinking LED capacitor problem….other blinking sequences ????
@gavincurtis when you say all the capacitors on the board, exactly which ones do you mean. just the ones near the original two blown ones 3300uF – or what?
You forgot to mention the shipping cost. Sure $3 to $7 for shipping is not very much, but it’s more than just “$0.65″ :-)
