This video demonstrates how to remove faulty Y-Board and replace with a new Y-Board. This video will show you how to replace the Y-Board Upper or Y-Board Lower. This HDTV all of a sudden began showing rolling vertical bars on the top half of the screen. so what causes this then in the 1st place as ive just had my broken plasma tv replaced with a samsung and what started of as on of the green lines has now became like 7 or 8 but when you tilt the screen forward some disapear the company i got it from is ringing me thurs with a view to replacing the tv as i only got it today 16/02/11
I have a Panasonic TH-65pz750u plasma tv with vertical lines in the upper middle of the screen but no horizontal lines. should I just change the C3 board first before changing the y board?
@DishonestApparel behind the tv when you take off the back cover,are all the green light’s located on the board’s suppose to blink?because 1 green light is blinking and the other 2 are staying light,please help me bro.
@linagee ….actually, phillips is a brand, not a type of screwdriver. the tech is correct.
Good luck with getting one that works more than a month before 1/3 of the screen develops vertical lines. Look at the video on my post to see what I’m talking about. And apparently this is a very common issue as BEST BUY can’t get a replacement for about a month. Every store that reported to have one of these televisions in stock was accounting for a television that was returned for the same reason.
It is a great television when it works!!!!
Did you try reflowing the buffer chip of the y board upper? I am wondering if the chip was bad or maybe just the connections to it. (Connections to SMD parts can and do go bad.)
It looked intelligent until I heard “use a phillips flathead”…
My samsung plasma when I turn it on, it’s fine, but when I turn it off, I have to wait like an hour before I can turn it back on because otherwise the image flips and looks like if you were looking through a heat camera. IF ANYONE GOT A SOLUTION PLEASE RESPOND!!!!!!!!!!!
