We're going to fix that. To complete this How-To you will need: Patience Paper and pen And time to shop Step 1: Consider plasmas Consider the two types of flat-screen TVs: plasma and LCD. Plasma screens are larger and provide a more vivid picture, and are easily viewed from different angles. Tip: On the other hand, still images — such as network logos — can "burn in," or become permanently visible, on some plasmas, though that's becoming less of a problem. Step 2: Consider LCDs Now weigh the merits of the LCD. It's lighter and less fragile than a plasma, uses less electricity, is easier to install, and there's no danger of burn-in. But the LCD picture is also less vivid. A good general rule of thumb is if you are looking for less then a 50-inch screen, then go with LCDs. Step 3: Consider resolution Consider if you want to pay for a higher resolution — that is, a sharper picture than what comes standard with a plasma or LCD. There are several upgrades. Step 4: Comparison shop Once you've decided what you want, its time to comparison shop, either in person at your local electronics store or online. Compare TVs ...

@youngtrillabyte walmart doesn’t sell any plasmas under a 37 inch. thats what i was referring to when i said plasma screens smaller then 30 inch’s don’t exist…. now walmart however sells tons of LCD’s and now even some LED’s in the 30 and lower range. the smallest one my store has is a 19 inch vizio LED.

  7. youngtrillabyte

@NEVAstopGAMER they sell lots of TVs under 30 inch in my local walmart the lowest i think they have is a 16 inch i think but i also have a 46 inch in my living room and it runs on 480p and its looks really clear compared to standard definition

rocknroll560 youre wrong i have a plasma and when the tv engine(yes, an engine) went wrong, the tv and its components were all ok…

  14. RockNRoll560

Buyers, keeep in mind that with a plazma if someting goes wrong the whole tv is ruined. But, if you get a LCD there will only appear to be a small black dot.

    lmao Online

They said plasmas have better viewing angles the LCDs. thats kind of funny because I have 2 LCD panel TVs in my house, and they both have a viewing angle > 170 degrees. Also, they should have said FLAT PANNEL instead of flat screen. I have a 20inch flat screen tube.(as opposed to the rounded screen of most CRT TVs)dont confuse the two. ALSO keep in mind that plasma screens smaller than 30 inches pretty much dont exist, and that its very rare for a plasma smaller then 50inch to do 1080p.

  17. NEVAstopGAMER

indeed. though expensive, they are AMAZING

  18. playboxwiistation360

you should have also added o.l.e.d’s,much better than both, almost never burn, thinner, lighter, uses a lot less energy, but costs more.

  19. TheCrazeGamer

LCD weighs less I have held one compared to a Plasma. I prefer a Plasma though. The only thing I hate about the Plasma is when I finish playing my games on Xbox 360 or PS3 it has a burned image, but after a while it’s gone.

  20. shepleytom

thats b.s…it does not weigh much more if it does

  21. Pinkersoss
