Do plasma tvs use more energy than regular tvs?
I bought a new plasma tv a couple of months ago and since then have noticed that my electric bill has gone up by about $ 80 a month. Doe plasma tvs use more energy than regular tvs or does this happen to be a strange coincidence?

No plasma TV's do use more electricity then either standard or LCD televisions, but an $ 80 increase seems a bit high

Yes they do indeed! Here is a link with some useful information:

According to Consumer Reports, the average yearly cost of running a 50″, 1080P Plasma set is $ 110.
So your monthly increase has to have some other cause.
